Summer is here! Or, at least, nearly here. With the summer sunshine comes family gatherings, pool parties, and backyard barbecues! Whether you're looking to make something star spangled for Independence day, or maybe a special treat for a birthday, baby shower, Pride or pool party, these dipped ice cream cones are always a hit on a hot summer day! They're a super quick way to bring something a little extra to the party.

Ice Cream Cones of choice
Ice Cream (Pick a favorite!)
Step One: Prepare your workstation!
Get your sprinkles on an easy to roll plate, prepare your candy melts for melting, and a piece of wax paper to put your cones on when they're done!
Step 2: Melt your Candy Melts
You can melt your chips a few different ways, either with a double boiler, a glass bowl in the microwave, or in a candy melter like this one from Wilton. I just did it in the microwave. Follow the instructions on the package for your preferred method. Remember: slow and steady is best when melting candy or chocolate, so you don't burn it!
Step 3: Dip your cones.
Dip your cone in the chocolate/candy and immediately move on to step 4 before it hardens! Tip: Roll your cone, don't dip straight in. Use a silicone spatula to smooth out the chocolate to a more even layer.
Step 4: Sprinkles!
Roll your freshly dipped cone in those sprinkles and get it nicely covered. We're using rainbow, red and blue, but you can make your own mix of sprinkles or press in some more decorative ones if you wish! When sufficiently covered, place upside down on the wax paper to cool and harden.
Step 5: I scream, you scream, for ice cream!
Put a healthy scoop of ice cream on those cones and enjoy!
