Valentines Soft Crafts with Premier Yarns!

Can you feel the love in the air? We do! Premier Yarns has a few Valentine's Day themed projects for you to enjoy! These projects use popular yarns like Ever Soft, Everyday® Soft, and Home Cotton (solids and multis) to give your Valentine's project a cozy foundation.

Note: Feel free to substitute whatever yarns you want to customize your color palette!

Heart Coasters/Garland


FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Length: 31/2”
Width: 4”

MATERIALS
Premier® Yarns Home Cotton Solids (85% Cotton, 15% Polyester; 80gm/140 yds)
        068414 White – 1 ball
        068473 Pastel Pink – 1 ball
Premier® Yarns Home Cotton Multis (85% Cotton, 15% Polyester; 60gm/105 yds)
        068631 Cotton Candy – 1 ball
        436487 Flamingo Splash – 1 ball
        #44-16 Valentine – 1 ball

Hook: US Size I 9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions: Tapestry needle

GAUGE
Granny Heart = 3 ½” x 4”

Heart (make 8 for garland)
With A, ch 4, join with a sl st to first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), 2 dc into ring, ch 2, (3 dc into ring, ch 2) 3 times; join with a sl st to top of beg ch-3, turn.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 2 dc into the ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3 dc into the same ch-2 sp, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1) into the next ch-2 sp, 3 times; join with a sl st to top of beg ch-3.
Rnd 3: Sc into the next 2 sts, (1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) into the ch-2 sp, 1 sc in each st across to the next ch-2 sp, 12 tr into the next ch-1 sp, sl st into the ch-2 sp, 12 tr into the next ch-1 sp, sc into the next ch-2 sp, sc in each st down the side of heart, join with a sl st in beg sc. Fasten off A.
Rnd 4: Attach B at the ch-2 sp at bottom of heart, sc in the next 13 sts, 2 sc in the next st, sc in the next 5 sts, sc into the ch-2 sp of round 2, sc in the next 5 sts, 2 sc in the next st, sc into the next 13 sts, join with sl st to beg sc.
Rnd 5:  Ch 1, sc into the same sp, sc into the next 14 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc into the next 4 sts, sl st across the next 3 sts, sc into the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the next st, sc into the next 14 sts, join with sl st to beg ch-1. Fasten off.

Pattern Notes
Vary colors for each heart, working Rows 1-3 in one color and switching to second color for Rows 4-5.

FINISHING
For garland string ch 160. Weave string through the middle of each heart. Weave in ends.

STITCH GUIDE
Heart 
Ch 14.
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in each of next 5 ch, 3 sc in next ch] twice, working in beg ch of opposite side, sc in each of next 4 ch, sc3tog, sc in each of next 5 ch, 3 sc in last ch.
Rnd 2: [Sc in each of next 7 sc, 3 sc in next sc] twice, sc in each of next 5 sc, sc3tog, sc in each of next 4 sc, 3 sc in last sc.
Rnd 3: [Sc in each of next 9 sc, 3 sc in next sc] twice, sc in each of next 4 sc, sc3tog, sc in each of next 5 sc, 3 sc in last sc.
Rnd 4: [Sc in each of next 11 sc, 3 sc in next sc] twice, sc in each of next 5 sc, sc3tog, sc in each of next 4 sc, 3 sc in last sc.
Rnd 5: [Sc in each of next 13 sc, 3 sc in next sc] twice, sc in each of next 4 sc, sc3tog, sc in each of next 5 sc, 3 sc in last sc.

HEART TRINKETS
Trinket A
With color A, make 2 Hearts. Sew Hearts together around ¾ of the perimeter, stuff with polyester stuffing, sew remainder of perimeter together. Cut a 7” length of ribbon. Sew to back of Trinket to hang.

Trinket B
With color B, make 2 Hearts. Finish as for Trinket B.

Trinket C
With color C, make 2 Hearts. Sew Hearts together around ¾ of the perimeter, stuff with polyester stuffing, sew remainder of perimeter together. Cut a 12” length of ribbon. Sew to back of Trinket to hang.

Trinket D
With color D, make 2 Hearts. Sew Hearts together around ¾ of the perimeter, stuff with polyester stuffing, sew remainder of perimeter together. Cut an 8” piece of color C, loop in half and sew to top of Trinket. Slide 3 beads on the C piece, knot just above top bead to secure.

Trinket E
With color E, make 2 Hearts. Sew Hearts together around ¾ of the perimeter, stuff with polyester stuffing, sew remainder of perimeter together. Sew rickrack around perimeter of Trinket. Cut a 7” length of ribbon. Sew to back of Trinket to hang.

Ch 2. 
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hk, turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, 3 sc in sc, turn – 3 sc. 
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn – 5 sc. 
Row 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn – 7 sc. 
Row 5: Ch 2, hdc in next 3 sc, turn. 
Row 6: Ch 2, hdc2tog over next 2 hdc, ch 2, sl st in last hdc. Fasten off. 
Row 7: Join yarn in center sc of Row 4, ch 2, hdc in last 3 sc of Row 4, turn. 
Row 8: Ch 2, hdc2tog over next 2 hdc, ch 2, sl st in last hdc. Change to E. 
Edging Rnd: Ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in each st and row evenly around Heart, sl st in first sc to join. Fasten off.

Hanging Chain
With B, ch 30, *sl st in 1st top edge of Heart, ch 3, sl st in 2nd top edge of Heart, ch 7; rep from * 13 more times attaching Hearts in a random order, ch 23. Fasten off.
